A program that drives innovation and technological advancement in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors in Costa Rica.
The Cultiva + program provides seed funding and technical assistance to MSMEs within the agriculture and agribusiness sectors for the implementation of projects that integrate innovation and technology into their products and/or services.
How can you participate?
1.
Get to know the program's operating guidelines
Refer to the Operating Guidelines, Rules, and Conditions for requirements, categories, and available amounts.
2.
Define your project
Clearly identify your proposal and the category in which you will participate.
3.
Register and apply
Visit the Seed Funding Platform, fill out all forms, and submit your application.
4.
Await evaluation
All applications will be evaluated, and winning projects will be announced.
Provided that you meet the requirements, your project will move to the evaluation phase. All winners will be announced publicly.

Frequently asked questions
What are the requirements?
All applications must meet a set of general requirements (applicable to all projects) and specific requirements (applicable based on the project category to which you are applying).
General Requirements:
- Possess a corporate identity number (i.e., be a company duly registered in the National Registry)
- Be a micro, small, or medium-sized enterprise (MSME). (MSME classification is based on the number of permanent employees on payroll: Micro: 1 to 5 employees; Small: 6 to 30 employees; Medium: 31 to 100 employees)
- Be registered as an employer with the Costa Rican Social Security Administration (CCSS) and be in good standing
- Your economic activity must be registered with the Ministry of Finance and you must be in good standing
- Possess current operating permits from the Ministry of Health, where applicable, or any other permits required for operation or project development
- Have completed PROCOMER’s Unique Exporter Diagnosis assessment. (If you have not yet completed this assessment, it will be conducted by PROCOMER during the evaluation period, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met)
- Provide the requisite counterpart funding based on project category and type.

How do I know if I have a Unified Exporter Assessment from PROCOMER?
This will be conducted during the evaluation period, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met as applicable to your participation category.

What are the participation categories?
- Agro-Innovation for Organized Groups: Associative entities or lead companies (empresas tractoras) with an established supply chain (at least 10 suppliers), incorporating digital tools into processes and/or products.
- Agriculture or Agribusiness: Productive Agro-Innovation: Incorporating technology aimed at increasing the competitiveness of agricultural and agribusiness companies.
