Within the framework of Discover, the Desarrollo de Proveedores Program is an initiative aimed at identifying market opportunities for agricultural and agribusiness products to diversify the country’s export offering, thereby promoting innovation within the sector and strengthening productive value chains.
The Supplier Development Program launched its first edition in 2021 and a second in 2022, benefiting a total of 51 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) and producers to date.
What does the program offer?
Connection with lead companies
Each edition of the program focuses on strategic productive chains. In 2022, the program worked with turmeric and papaya in partnership with lead companies experienced in export markets.
Technical and commercial support
The lead companies received support from PROCOMER to strengthen their offer and close gaps in their productive process.
Benefits for local suppliers
In 2022, up to 20 producers were selected to receive seed capital and technical assistance to improve their productivity and prepare for long-term commercial linkages.

What is seed funding capital?
Seed funding capital refers to non-repayable funds allocated for the execution of agricultural or agribusiness projects focused on development, transformation, scalability, and innovation.
What is a lead company?
A lead company is an agricultural or agribusiness company with proven export experience that leads the production and export of the fresh or processed product selected under the Supplier Development Program.
What is a supplier company?
A supplier is a micro, small, or medium-sized agricultural enterprise or an associative entity within the agriculture or agribusiness sector, that is either an exporter or has export potential. Through supply chain linkages, it complements the productive chain selected under the Supplier Development Program by meeting specific needs of a lead company.
How do I know if I have a Unified Exporter Assessment from PROCOMER?
Upon completing the form’s personal information section, PROCOMER will conduct an internal verification to determine whether you already have the diagnosis. For cases where the diagnosis has not been completed, but the application includes all other required documentation, PROCOMER will conduct the corresponding diagnosis during the evaluation process.
